Almond is a great snack. Not only it is delicious, but this nut also has several health benefitting properties. These are known to be good for the brain. Not just that, these are rich in antioxidants, fiber, and vitamin E. These are the benefits one can reap from oral consumption of almonds. What about their topical application? Skincare Benefits Of Almond Oil
If you live in India, you know that almond oil is a staple in skin and haircare routines. Its use has been touted in ancient Chinese and Indian holistic health systems. Not just that, it is also found in several skincare products. So, why is this the case? Why does almond oil feature prominently in skincare routines? It’s because of its skincare benefits as enumerated by Dr. Madhusmita:

- Almond oil has both moisturising and emollient properties. Owing to its moisturising properties, it is used to treat dry skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, etc.
- It can be beneficial for those with dry, itchy, cracked, and flaky skin.
- Almond oil is also known to protect the skin from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet radiations.
- Not just that, it can prevent stretch marks in pregnant women.
- Regular application of almond oil improves skin elasticity and keeps it hydrated.
- Struggling with under-eye puffiness and dry circles? Go no far. Almond oil’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties can help there, too.
- Almond oil is also rich in vitamins E and K, thus, helping with soothing the skin.
Is Almond Oil Safe?

Almond oil has no known side effects. It can also be used on all skin types. However, it is better for those with dry skin, since it has moisturising properties. Those with the sensitive test can be cautious while using it. A simple patch test on a small area can help you know if this oil will work well on your skin. Also, you must ensure that you aren’t allergic to this nut.

How To Use Almond Oil On Skin?
Here is how you can use almond oil as a moisturiser:
- First, wash your face with a good cleanser.
- Next, take some almond oil and apply it to your face using your fingertips.
- Wait for about 30 minutes for your skin to absorb the oil.
For massaging the skin with almond oil:
- Take 8-10 drops of it.
- Gently massage your skin using your fingertips.
These are two of the ways you can use almond oil on your skin. Although safe, it is better to try it on a small area of your skin. If well-suited, you can use it on your entire face. Another use is to use it for double cleansing, which is an excellent way to keep your skin clean and healthy.
