When it comes to diet and health, particularly weight loss, the majority of the focus shifts to what you eat and how much you eat. While eating less than your maintenance is the key to losing weight, another important factor is eating according to your topography.

Many diet plans work on the principle of completely eliminating carbs from the diet and focusing on protein. However, while elimination and addition are all bodybuilding concepts, if you want to get in shape, you should concentrate on eating seasonal foods and changing your dietary habits based on where you live. So, if you're new to dieting or struggling to lose weight, here are some dieting tips for Indians.

1) Binge On Local Foods

The human body responds well to food that your gut has become accustomed to or that you have been eating for a while. The first step in losing weight should be reintroducing the fruits and vegetables you have been avoiding. Most importantly, those that are area specific because they aid in digestion and contain all the nutrients that the human body requires daily. Even if you're on a keto diet and it says you should eat broccoli, but your seasonal veggie is carrot, make it a point to eat carrot.

2) Seasonal Fruits

Fruits, nature's own superfood, should be part of your diet if you want to live a healthy lifestyle. Fruits provide everything from essential vitamins and minerals to antioxidants, which aid in inflammation reduction. Moreover, fruits are ideal for weight loss because they are low in calories and help with a sweet tooth. The only thing to remember is that you are turning to seasonal fruits such as oranges instead of avocados because our body absorbs seasonal fruits more competently than other fruits.

3) Avoid Snacking

The most common cause of weight gain is frequent snacking. Eating at an inconvenient time not only increases daily calorie intake, but it also slows metabolism. Moreover, Indian snacks such as samosas and chikki increase inflammation in the body. Consuming protein, on the other hand, can be an excellent way to eliminate toxins. The best time to consume protein is when you are most hungry, for example, if you crave food in the evening, then having the majority of your protein in lunch or starting your day with protein-rich meal is also a great idea.

4) Indulge In Fasting

Fasting during festivals or special days is an age-old tradition in India because fasting not only cleanses the body but also strengthens the mind. Fasting is the best detox because you don't eat or drink during it, and your organs like the liver and kidney get plenty of rest. The only thing to remember is that when you start eating after your fast, start with fruits and then move on to solid foods.
